About the Queensland Transcultural Mental Health Centre (QTMHC)
The Queensland Transcultural Mental Health Centre (QTMHC) provides specialist mental health services and programs across Queensland. We work with people of all ages from many culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
We understand culture is an important part of helping with mental health and wellbeing and work with people and their communities to make sure they get the right mental health care and support.
Our team is made up of mental health clinicians and cultural specialists, as well as a casual pool of over 100 bicultural workers who can give culture-specific advice.
People, their family members or carers, community members and service providers and organisations can refer someone to us.
When we can help
We can help you if the person you are referring (which can be you) is from a CALD background and you want:
- advice about your own or someone else’s mental health and wellbeing
- a mental health assessment or intervention
- to organise an assessment or psychoeducation for a person or their family member
- to organise a workshop on a particular mental health issue in your community.
